Nance is one of those rare individuals who cross our path all too
infrequently, yet our lives are powerfully impacted for having known
them. He has all the impressive academic qualifications: a B.S. in
Christian Ministry from Southwestern College, his Masters in
Counseling from Barry University, and a PhD in Philosophy,
Leadership and Education with a specialization in Counseling from
Barry University, but that's not who Jerry Nance is. The one word
which best describes Jerry is "servant."
Whether as an associate pastor or the senior pastor of a local
church, or Crusade Associate for David Wilkerson, the founder of
Teen Challenge, Jerry has lived out Christ's example of servant
leadership. His compassion for those who struggle with drug
addiction compels him to develop multiple inner city outreaches and
now to assist the leadership for centers in various countries around
the world. He continues to serve on regional and national
boards and in 2007 was elected President and CEO of Global Teen Challenge.
Beginning with his leadership as Executive Director of Teen
Challenge of Florida / Georgia in 1991, this ministry has grown to twelve centers in Florida, four in Georgia as well as expanding into Missouri and South Carolina, caring for over 1200
boys, girls, men and women.
Jerry and his wife Libby are proud to be the parents of three grown
children and four grandchildren. |
